Green cleaning in Christchurch - done properly, not just labelled
To us, green cleaning isn’t only about which chemicals we use – it’s about how we use them. Cleaning responsibly means caring for the environment and for our community.
Using safe products isn’t as simple as going “organic” or “natural”. There are plenty of naturally-occurring poisons out there, and just because something is manufactured doesn’t make it dangerous. The key is understanding what to use, where to use it, and how to use it safely.

Service features
We’ve thought carefully about this, and we’re happy to talk any of it through with you before we start a job.
Non-toxic products
Safe for your family, safe for your pets, safe for whoever's doing the cleaning. We choose products because they're genuinely safe - not just because the label says so.
Careful with disposal
It's not just what we use - it's how we use it. We treat waterways and drains with the same care whether anyone's watching or not.
Water-only cleaning
For the jobs where run-off is hardest to control - like multi-storey glass - we skip detergent altogether and clean with purified water alone.
Full transparency
Ask us what's in the bottle and we'll tell you. No trade secrets, no vague "eco-friendly" labels - just a straight answer.
What we cover
Here’s how that works in practice:
In five parts:
The products we use
Our most common chemical for cleaning and window cleaning is a detergent made by Ecochem, a local Christchurch cleaning product manufacturer. It’s non-toxic, safe on skin, and would be quite safe to wash your dishes in. For every chemical we use, we carry data sheets covering the ingredients and any risks involved, and we’re happy to discuss those with you before we start.
How we handle and dispose of them
Although a small amount won’t hurt, large quantities of detergent could damage our rivers and waterways. So we will never empty a bucket in your garden or down a drain, and we’re careful to mop up any spills.
Water-only cleaning
The classic window cleaning method uses a little detergent, then a squeegee and a cloth to catch the run-off. That works fine on a standard window – but on a multi-storey building or a large pane, catching the run-off gets far harder. So for those jobs we use water-purifying technology, which filters out minerals and salts. No detergent needs to be added, the window doesn’t need drying because the water leaves no stain, and there’s no run-off that could harm waterways.
When stronger chemicals are needed
Some products we use, like commercial oven cleaner, are genuinely toxic. Where something could be dangerous to the environment or to our staff, we do everything we can to understand and mitigate the risks – making sure any residue is fully removed or neutralised, that our team have the right protective equipment, and that the client and anyone else nearby knows what’s being used and why.
Caring for our community
Being a responsible business is also about people. We pay our staff well, we don’t use unfair or zero-hours contracts, and we support our team to learn and grow – which is a big part of why most of them have been with us for years. We guarantee our work and we’ll come back and fix a problem even when it costs us. And if we don’t think a service is right for you, we’ll say so.
